There's just something about those Pods that I don't like. First, there's no way you can really simulate going miles per hour in a videogame; none of us will ever drive a vehicle which can go that fast, and even if the game could actually give us the same experience which Anakin felt in the film, how could any of us be successful at it? I can't imagine there are too many gamers out there who could handle such a quickly moving vehicle; the fastest most of us have jetted around a raceway ranges between and miles per hour while playing games with stock or Indy cars.
Second, the very nature of the Pods makes handling them different from anything you've ever driven in a game. With those two engines out front and the Pod in the back, it's not the same as driving something all in one piece, the way I prefer my racing games. The game also handles sluggishly, even when you try to play with the bare minimum of visuals to keep system overload down.
EDIT: If system specs are required for anyone to better help me, I am prepared to provide them, just let me know. I haven't played this game on PC in like I had to resort to the N64 version, which is vastly inferior.
Ostatnio edytowany przez: Digital Unity ; 18 listopada o What resolution do you have set when you run the Configurator Tool? For some reason when I first launched the game on Steam, I wasn't able to select p but the game still ran.
It was only after that first boot I was able to set it to p in the Configurator tool. Morbid Eden Zobacz profil Zobacz posty.
I would try and troubleshoot by only having your controller plugged in before you launch the game. What happens when you plug the controller in after you launch the game? The skill ceiling for the game is pretty high though, so it's still gratifying trying to go as fast as possible. Sure, the visuals are pretty dated, which is to be expected, and the game itself is really easy if you're not reckless. But other than that, it's a good quality game for its time, especially considering that it's a movie tie-in.
It's chock-full of atmosphere and flair, especially the stages, which are all visually interesting and unique to each other. It has many at the time rarely seen mechanics, like a degradable engine which can get damaged from reckless driving or blow up from overheating, shops with many upgrades to your vehicles, and many colorful characters, each with its own statistics, instead of being just a different skin.
Also, you can really feel the high-speed you are driving with here, especially if you decide to play in a first-person view. Overall, it's a really fun game even for someone like me, who usually doesn't enjoy racing games. Though, I probably wouldn't recommend it to most people. Consider buying it if you feel nostalgic for the title, are a dedicated Star Wars fan, or if you want to experience a part of gaming history.
It's probably the single best thing that came out of The Phantom Menace. I remember to have a lot of fun with that game, when it was released on Dreamcast, so I was looking forward to try it with the GoG Version. But the controlling is so bad, that I stopped that game only after few minutes.
I cant remember if the controlling was so slow in the Dreamcast version also. But I read, that this game is very hard in the end, so I didnt want to frustrate more.
There are better games outside. Or maybe this game needs a great remake with newest graphic engine and some new ideas. I read that there is a Unreal Engine 4 version out there, but my laptop is too old to play that. Sign in Sign in Create account Sign in. Hand-picking the best in gaming. Customer-first approach.
