The author has done a lot of research on the subject of the sinking of the SS Ceramic and has to be commended for it, but the book is more like a museum for the Ceramic. The book covers from the Ceramics origins, it's troop carrying in World War 1 and the inter-war years service, to it's service in World War 2 right up to it's sinking.

There are too many needless letters and diary extracts in the book which does not ad value to the book, but just fills too many pages.
